Al Gore to Publish Book about Global Warming

Rodale Books today announced its agreement with former U.S. Vice President Al Gore to publish a book about global warming entitled An Inconvenient Truth to be released in April 2006. Rodale Books President Tami Booth and Vice President and Executive Editor Leigh Haber acquired the book and audio rights in an agreement with Andrew Wylie of the Wylie Agency. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The book, to be edited by Leigh Haber, will be released in April and was announced at the screening of the documentary film An Inconvenient Truth at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah on January 24. In the film, Mr. Gore guides audiences through indisputable evidence of the environmental impact of global warming. In the book, the former U.S. Vice President writes about global warming and shares his personal story about how the issue became of urgent importance to him. His 1992 book, entitled Earth In The Balance, was critically praised and became a national bestseller, establishing him as an expert and leading spokesperson on the issue. The subject has become increasingly vital to him in the intervening years.
